“Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.”   ~Chinese Proverb

I believe that every child brings something unique to this world.  In order for children to tap into those unique qualities and talents, they must feel supported and safe in being who they are.  A child’s natural curiosity is what should direct their learning.  Rather than providing the answers for the children, they will remember what they learn much more by discovering the answers through activities.  Developing a curriculum around a student’s interest fosters intrinsic motivation and stimulates the passion to learn.

It is my desire to help children reach their full potential by helping guide them and providing access to the information that interests them and allows them to grow.  Helping students to develop love and respect for themselves, others, and their environment occurs through sharing of ideas and interests.  When the voice of each child is heard, children feel free to express themselves.  I believe children have greater respect for their teachers, their peers, and the lessons presented when they feel safe and sure of what is expected of them.
