Children need to play, explore, and have time to contemplate or study the world around them. I believe that the first years of a child’s life are the most crucial years. Children need opportunities to thrive and even fail. Exploratory learning can be defined as an approach to teaching and learning that encourages learners to examine and investigate new material with the purpose that the child may discover relationships between what they know and unfamiliar content or concepts.
I believe in Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences because children truly are capable of approaching tasks in many different ways. Most importantly, I believe that it is my job to guide students so that they may find and learn to love their talents and find peace within themselves.
