Providing children with a positive early childhood experience develops a foundation that leads to enjoying a lifetime of learning. My passion for teaching stems from this belief. My desire and goal is to provide the best educational experience for my students and their families. My classroom is designed to foster a sense of belonging where children feel safe and welcomed.  I am committed to the success of my students.

Children are motivated to learn when they have opportunities to make choices in an environment that is enriching and stimulating. Providing a safe, nurturing and engaging classroom where children can grow intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially is important. My classroom fosters creativity and develops an excitement for learning. Children are encouraged to explore, communicate, question, feel and discover.

It is essential for each child to feel loved, safe and part of a community.  Each child is unique in their learning styles and abilities. As teachers, we are there to recognize this and provide learning activities that correspond to each child’s specific needs. I commit to know each child individually and help them discover and build upon their strengths. This approach, in addition to providing students opportunities to learn and engage with one another, contributes to a sense of community in the classroom. Within this setting students feel validated, accepted and supported in their learning process.

Building a partnership between the teacher and the parent is an important component of student success. The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with the home enables the teacher to better understand the needs of the students, allowing them to flourish.

Establishing a strong foundation in learning during this impressionable period of a child’s life is crucial. This will ensure that each child is well equipped and supported to successfully continue a pattern of joyful, lifelong learning.
